    Celeste caused inreversable damage to two loved Asm characters. After Nick Spensers run on Asm it was established that Maryjane did not need powers to be a strong female character in a superhero book. And the relationship between Peter And Maryjane's was on a high point. We the fans are angry. Because this was pointless and destructive. Get Peter and Mj back togheter.

    Based off her appearances in other podcasts, I can tell Celeste is a really talented and kind-hearted person. It's a shame that she was tasked to write a story that follows Zeb Well's terrible ASM run. I really hope she gets better and have more amazing oppurtunities in the future. While I am not a fan of some of her inputs, ultimately I don't blame her writing since really its the editorial that is at fault for not staying true to the ideal Spider-Man the fans want to see. Cebulski, Wells, and Lowe are already making a mess of a Spider-Man story. And I think that she really is in a tough position of making a good story for MJ and Black Cat (and to some extent Peter) that follows the main line story that most people did not find enjoyable, myself included. I guess in a way, the negetive reception of Jackpot and Black Cat stems from the frustrations that fans have had since the beginning of Wells' run. The lack of Spider-Man in his own story (having so little impact in the gang war story + getting beat up once in a while all while sad and depressed since the love of his life left him for another guy) and the lack of that classic MJ and Peter Parker dynamics fans have to see for a long time are what made fans disinterested in this mini. This is why Marvel Ultimate Spider-Man is loved by fans, trumps in every other aspect, and outsells Well's ASM and its offshoots despite having only 7 issue. For years fans have been very vocal of their dissapointment in ASM, and we've longed for a shift in Peter Parker's status quo to take place towards a more positive direction. And I'm glad Hickman and his team took note of this, unlike Lowe and Wells who've developed a habit of avoided fan suggestions and critics, focusing only what they want and not what we, THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY BUY THE COMICS, want. Also, I don't think MJ as Jackpot is a bad idea. I think her being a hero would make for an interesting story with Spider-Man. Both of them working together might be fun, hopefully without emotional baggages and drama in the future. But please Celeste if you read this (or any other writer for Jackpot), don't write her like she's better already than Spider-Man or Black Cat in fighting crime. She has only started punching people in the face, how is she already beating villians like electro with ease. And she's fighting like she's been in the business longer than Peter. It would also be interesting to see drawbacks/flaws in her powers and not just a magical deus ex machina for story telling convinience. Much love from the Philippines ❤

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Celeste's work and the challenges she faces as a writer. I appreciate your passion for comics as a whole. If you're interested in gaining more insight into Celeste's creative process and personal reflections, I invite you to watch this interview when it comes out this week. We delve into introspective questions that go beyond the usual discussions cookie cutter questions you get on every other UA-cam Channel / Interview show that she's been on. Especially about how her past creative projects and working in TV/Film Industry has shaped her writing career. It offers a deeper understanding of her motivations and inspirations. As an interviewer, I love these types of comments because you took the time to engage in meaningful dialogue and thoughtful commentary. I hope this interview provides further insight into Celeste's journey as a writer and maybe there are other works of hers that might resonate better than this series.

    Jackpot and Black Cat is one the wost comic books I have ever read. Celeste Bronfman demonstrates she has absolutely no understanding of either Mary Jane Watson or Felicia Hardy. The story is asinine to the nth degree, the tech stuff is ridiculous and no, apps don't work that way as any fifth grader would be able to tell her. Celeste turned MJ into a parody of Batman, I know Celeste is used to writing for toys but Mary Jane Watson is not Lego Batman, sorry Celeste. She also takes away Fel's agency, making her do whatever a blackmailer says when Felicia would be the first investigating and taking down anyone threatening her. This was a waste of time to read and sorry, won't be listening.

      Hey there, thanks for sharing your thoughts on 'Jackpot and Black Cat.' It sounds like you had a strong reaction to the comic. While I understand that not every story resonates with every reader, this interview really dove into the writing process and the character development of the four issues. Was there a story with Felicia Hardy/Black Cat and/or Mary Jane Jackpot (together or separate) that you actually enjoyed? It's a shame you won't be tuning in. I spent alot of time interviewing and editing this episode. Maybe there is another creator that I've interviewed, like Darryl Banks, Arvell Jones, Keith Champagne or Tom Nguyen that you may enjoy.

      I think there is a different culture shift when it comes to the consumption of the comics medium. The Asian markets of manga vs. comics of say specifically North America have different approaches. At least with a Manga you are going to get an Anime adaptation thus giving the manga an extended life. You'll never get that in North America. If you do it's too few to mention. I can only recall Axe Cop as the most recent adaptation in NA

    Bro yall create random connections to the dumbest stuff 😂😂 i dont hate on or mind anyones culture or choice but spiderman is in no way shape or form related to jewish culture or Judaism, he is christian. Granted stan lee was jewish and so yes many of his characters will have some hint of jewish trairs or characteristics slightly but he was also an excellent story writer. What makes spiderman so unique is being raised in a christian family and being raised with good morals which he keeps even though he is such an extremely gifted individual in science and even though he generally espoused atheistoc views due to that connection of science he has acknowledged he believes in a gorm of god but no set version of the being is worshipped or acknowledged by peter parker.

      @@TGTMedia the entire premise, I reject the entire premise. I mean it sounds completely made up out of thin air, and just like an assumption more than an assertion of fact(s),. I don’t see it holding up under any scrutiny whatsoever. You can have a Jewish character nobody just wants to hear about the religion of a superhero. They want to hear about superhero shit just like when I watched Lucifer and I got sick of the cop angle being so prevalent in the show. It’s a show about the devil… I want to see angel demon crap. And Waymore than the cop stuff.

There's more context in the full interview ua-cam.com/video/4Lo0rKVY354/v-deo.html itself and the chapter is clickable to see the full answer. Ari goes onto say that yes, Spiderman isn't a Jewish character as he goes to church, gets married in a church, but the similarities are possibly there even if he wasn't written/created as a jewish character. But, I think it goes back to how do you want a fictional character to act or how it is portrayed on the page. No one, is going to like every character that's for sure. I mean take Constantine, the classic comic version vs. the film adaptations. The TV Shows (as short lived as it was) held close to the character origins and even the WB version in the Arrowverse (thanks to bringing back that same actor) helped revitalize that character. But, the Keanu version, as good of an actor as he is, didn't quite hit the same mark. Maybe the sequel that they are making will fill in some gaps.

    I think from where I stand is that the stigma for esports is negative because of social standards. The idea that games are just games and work is work. We’re always told not to mix work and play which is where I think the problem stems from for most people. They see a professional gamer, and think “they have too much time on their hands”. Well like, no shit it’s their job. This “too much time” is where the basement dweller cheese puff stereotype comes from. Side note: I personally think that esports is an unsustainable career, as often the payout is not amazing for the time and effort put in. Not the mention the fact that the skill set to become that good in one game may not translate to another.

    • @TGTMedia
      @TGTMedia 6 місяців тому

      100% agree on those statements as well. You look at the 'older generation' mentality of parents or people that just aren't connected to games. They don't understand what games actually are. Which can be a job, an escape from a hard day (if this isn't your profession) or even a place to connect with a community or your friends that you've only met online. There's a phrase: "If you do what you love then its not work." I also agree that esports is unsustainable as a career. You can probably make more as a streamer (although that seems tough with how flooded the channels are these days). Total props to those streamers have built their brands to the standards that we see today.

      Great take on this, it sounds like you have some experience doing this type of content. It takes just as much time if you don't have a team around you. You play the games that draw people in, build your community while doing this, record the content, edit, post to social media, upload to the various platforms. But in the end you love what you do and maybe you've made someone's day a bit better as well.

    You know what stigma needs to change? That your opinion is only worth anything ig you are above the top 3 tiers in your game. Its bullshit. Even shit players have to deal with noobstomper characters or people, and they make up 99% of your playerbase

    • @TGTMedia
      @TGTMedia 6 місяців тому

      100% agreed. There are so many times that I've gotten tilted because of being stomped by higher level players, and add to the fact that you don't know if they are actually good OR they are cheating.
